About Us

The Downriver Community Band (DCB), founded in 1989, is a volunteer group of adult musicians who play wind and percussion instruments. There are no auditions and no chair positions. This group is for fun!

Our mission is to give non-professional adult musicians a dynamic and enriching opportunity to perform, positively contribute to the cultural environment of the Downriver area, and perform in a venue that allows and encourages personal musical expression and growth. Our group is comprised of players with various levels of musicianship. Members come from all walks of life. DCB performs locally for civic, charity, and fundraising events and has performed in Hawaii, New York, Washington DC, and Indiana. Our repertoire consists of marches, big band, classical, jazz, show tunes, contemporary, and original compositions.
